Hello!
My name is Christian Hollingsworth - and I currently live in Colfax, CA. I live with my parents and four younger brothers. I have three huskies, one chihuahua - and a corn snake. Currently in the process of acquiring some chickens. :)
In way of sports - I play tennis on the Sierra College team, and I dog sled with my huskies. I've only been playing tennis for one year - so I'm working hard to improve. I also love to write, and draw (pencil) - and I'm a big time reader. Les Miserables, Dan Brown books, Eragon, & Lord of the Rings are some of my many favorites.
Apart from sports and the computer - music is a large part of my life. I've been playing piano for many years, and I also sing and perform for special events. I'm in the process of learning how to write music - which is interesting all in itself!
At the end of the year I'll be leaving for a 2 year service mission, and no, I don't know where I'm going yet!
I've been working with computers since I was 9. I started playing with online communities like Neopets - and really took to liking the "community" aspect of the internet. I began teaching myself HTML, CSS, XHTML & PHP.
A few years later I developed an obsession with dog sledding. I soon acquired some dogs and started a team. Along with the team of sled dogs I also started Sleddoggin.com, which has now grown to be one of the largest dog sledding sites on the internet.
Recently I began blogging at SmartBoyDesigns.com, where I share information regarding blog promotion, design & making money online. I also manage and maintain a slew of websites for clients.
I'm taking this class to expand my knowledge of the "world of web design" and hope to learn more about the programs we will be using. This is my last semester before obtaining my degree in CIS, and I hope to transfer when I return from my mission.
In the long run - I don't know if I'll continue web development for the rest of my life, but it will definately be available and "on the side" if needed. I hope to continue my schooling and possibly pursue a career in Neurosurgery.
